Tiumalu Peter Fa’afiu

Born in Satuimalufilufi, Samoa in 1978, migrated to New Zealand at age five years of age.

Raised in State housing in Glen Innes and Panmure. From a devout Roman Catholic family, Peter attended Sacred Heart College, Auckland. He rose to become Head Boy in 1996.

Currently International Director of Amnesty International, a NZD600 million entity with over 2,000 staff around the world. His appointment made him only the third New Zealander and first of Pacific or Polynesian descent.
