PETER M. SILALAHI

Peter Martao Silalahi, (born 8 December 1971) is the Head of Brand Campaign and Activation of the Indonesian mobile telecommunications company Telkomsel. He was appointed to the position on 1 September 2016. Earlier he was the Head of Marketing Strategic Projects (1 June 2009), Head of Prepaid Device Promotions (1 January 2013). He has been working in the telecommunications industry for 16 years.

Personal life

Peter Martao Silalahi was born on December 8, 1971, in Jakarta, Indonesia as the fourth child of Odjahan Silalahi and his wife, Louise Ong. He was raised in several different countries with five siblings. His father was a diplomat working for the Indonesian foreign ministry and former Indonesian Ambassador to Namibia. Silalahi has a Batak and Chinese roots.

Silalahi is married with Elisabeth Theresia and has a son named George Silalahi from his previous marriage with Yani Oetji.

Education

Silalahi attended schools in New York, United States; Tokyo, Japan; Bern, Switzerland; The Hague, The Netherlands; and Jakarta, Indonesia. He entered Trisakti University in 1990 and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics majoring Marketing Management. In 2001, he went for graduate business school in Brussels, Belgium, United Business Institutes and graduated with an MBA degree.
