Discussion I was having about Copa America here. I'm trying to find which club a typical national side's players played at over the summer 2004, during the Copa America. ANYONE AND EVERYONE WHO'S INTERESTED IN FINDING THE TRUTH ABOUT WHAT KIND OF SQUADS PLAY IN THE CA IS WELCOME TO EDIT THIS IN GOOD FAITH.
Typical group oppponents

Let's use Costa Rica's group for analysis.

Next WCQ lineup (see below): BRA: 1-Julio Cesar; 2-Belletti, 4-Roque Junior, 3-Edmilson, 6-Roberto
Carlos; 5-Juninho Pernambucano (15-Renato 60), 8-Gilberto Silva, 11-Edu (18-Robinho 74), 10-Ronaldinho (17-Alex 60); 7-Adriano, 9-Ronaldo.
Verdict: About as I expected, Brasil brought an A-/B+ side that had a few players they used in the next qualifier, most obviously Adriano. In general their CA squad had good European participation, apparently including several Euro-based second-stringers trying to make it into the WCQ A-squad.
