VOTING
VOTER REGISTRATION
You must be a U.S. citizen and a legal resident of the state you are voting in. You must also be 18 years old to vote. Most states deny voting right to those who are convicted of a felony and serving time in prison. In most states citizens can register to vote when they are 17 years of age, and after your 18th birthday, your voter registration card will be sent to you.
VOTING PROCEDURE
-Familiarize yourself with the candidates and the issues they are against or they support. -Maintain contact with the office of the supervisor of elections and keep them up to date with your current address. -Know the location of your polling place and its hours of operation. -Bring proper identification to the polling station. -Familiarize yourself with the operations of the voting equipment in your precinct. -Familiarize yourself with the specific voting technique done in your polling place. -Treat precinct workers with respect. -Respect the privacy of other voters. -Report any problems or violations of election laws to the supervisor of elections. -Ask questions if needed. -Make sure that your completed ballot is correct before leaving the polling station.
