BARANOL is a type of mixture explosives which is similar to BARATOL , the only difference in composition of BARANOL and BARATOL is only due to presence of Aluminium in BARANOL.

Preparation of BARANOL:

BARANOL consists of 50% Barium nitrate 35% TNT,15% Aluminium powder.

The appropriate weight of Barium nitrate is heated to 90°C carefully and added to molten TNT followed by addition of Aluminium dust.

Burning rate : 5450 m/s. Density : 2.32 gm /cc. Heat of combustion : 2099 cal/gm.
