Mariah Cummings's Wikipedia's Sound design article for ENGL1101.62
[edit]Analysis of Article
[edit]Most of this article seems to be written by someone involved in sound design, and I think they used a lot of personal experiences as reference when writing this article. The article also seems a little biased on certain subjects.

Revised paragraph from article
[edit]Original
[edit]Generation and manipulation of sound elements is widely used in a variety of human-computer interfaces, in computer games and video games.[14][15] Almost all large productions have one or a few sound designers. Without these sound designers, the audio of the production would not be as rich and realistic to the audience.
Revised
[edit]Generation and manipulation of sound elements is widely used in a variety of human-computer interfaces, such as computer games, video, and other multimedia on the internet. Large productions, such as mainstream video games and movies, have a team of multiple sound designers who work to make an affluent and realistic experience for their audience.
Original Contributions
[edit]Modern uses of sound manipulation in current electronic music genres, like Trance, Techno, Industrial, etc., include the uses of sound boards, controllers or mixers, laptops, headphones, speakers, and any kind of DJ software. Electronic artists typically create their own tempo beats, and are able to create an entirely new piece of music. Some, however, chose to create remixes of already produced songs, and develop their career in music from there.
