[edit]ONGWEDIVA city is one of fastest growing town situated in the northern of namibia. Ongwediva city has an overall population of 27 000 people of which 3 500 live in the informal area of the town. Its first mayor was MR. Erastus Uutoni and curently he is a deputy minister for safety and the current mayor is Mrs Patricia Kashuupulwa.[1]
ONGWEDIVA city hosts its annual trade fair in august/september there, and this event attract a lot of inhibitors from every part of namibia and outside namibia be it from Europe or Asia. The Vision of ongwediva is to provide infrastructure and improve municipal service delivery so as to attract investment opportunities and make Ongwediva a preferred town. The mission of ongwediva city is to promote the social and economic development of Ongwediva, to create a conducive environment for trade and investments and offering avenues of strategic networking and efficient service delivery. Ongwediva city is situated between Ondangwa and Oshakati and its 30 km from ondangwa and 10 km to oshakati.[2][3]
Schools in ongwediva city
[edit]There are two high schools in ongwediva city namely Gabriel taapopi secondary school and Mweshipandeka high school. Gabriel taapopi secondary school curentry is the best perfomer in the whole northern namibia and most of the students in the University of namibia (UNAM) and polytechnic of namibia and colleges in namibia, the majority of best perfomers academically are from Gabriel taapopi secondary school. There are also primary schools and pre primary schools. Education in ongwediva city is regarded as the key to prepare your child bright future.[4]
Entertainment in ongwediva city
[edit]If your want to be entertained or to entertain yourself ongwediva City is the place to be. There is a bennies entertainment park wich is not a public park but you pay a less to enjoy multiple services including free entertainment. There is a swimming pool when you feel hot and you feel you want to cool youself. There are multiple sheebens including clubs for party freaks.[5]
Safety in ongwediva city
[edit]safety in ongwediva city comes first. there is 24/7 police officials patrolling the town and the aim is to protect the people and property. The main objective of safety in ongwediva city is to make the visitors feel at home and without any disturbance.[6]
