Carmen S Menoni is a distinguished Professor at the University of Colorado in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.[1] Her research interests are in the fields of Extreme ultraviolet/soft x-ray photonics, nano spectroscopy and microscopy and optical interference coatings. Her research focuses on the development of new and reliable interference coating architectures for power scaling of mid-infrared lasers[2]. She is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and the president elect[3]. She is also a fellow of several prestigious Scientific societies: the American Physical Society, the Optical Society of America and SPIE, International Society for optics and photonics[4].

Later that year, Menoni and her team received the Best Oral Presentation Award at the SPIE Laser Damage Conference, an important forum where the latest advances in optical materials for high-power lasers are presented.

Education

[edit]

Carmen S Menoni obtained her Bachelor of Science in Physics at the University of Rosario in 1978 and later her Ph. D in Physics at the Colorado State University in 1987.
