Licorice Pizza was a chain of music and video rental stores in Southern California, from 1969 to xxxx
History
[edit]The first store was opened in 1969 in Long Beach, California by James Greenwood, named after a skit from a Bud and Travis song that joked about sprinkling sesame seeds on a record and selling it as "licorice pizza"[1]
The chain began adding video rental sections to their stores in 1983, having them in 31 of 34 stores by the next year.[1][2]
