Scrapping Metals

[edit]
A Central Work Location

1. A small work shop, with work bench, electrical connections 120 VAC, 220 is a bonus. 2. Proper lighting and heating/air conditioned. 3. Work bench with vise(s). Work benches important, build them at least on three walls

Be aware that scrapping will not pay as an investment if these items are being listed are purchased. You must begin your efforts small and grow with it. First, get Scrapping l01 here and get the facts and do the math. Tools will be discussed and so will prices paid and much more.

The ideal setup would be a shop at your home, and you are retired. As a hobby, no need to register, think of it as the guy you see collecting aluminum cans along the road or highway. Having a home outside of a populated area makes for an overhead. Your vehicles will be used, so a pickup truck is needed to bring home the bacon (metal) Your business should be a 1 man affair during the learning period. Having copper priced at $3.00 a lb makes a motivation switch come on. Note that price flux is important, and that will give you an advantage on when to sell and not sell.
