General info[edit]

I am reviewing the article on Arsenic that Price793 is working on this semester. The link to User:Price793/Arsenic

Lead Evaluation:[edit]

The lead is concise and adequately summarizes the content of the article. It includes brief paragraphs that cover Arsenic's physical chemistry, historical uses, current production and applications, roles in the metabolism of different organisms, environmental issues, and toxicity.

Content Evaluation:[edit]

Additional information could be added to the sections: "biological roles", "essential trace element in higher animals", and "bioremediation". For instance, do the microbial metabolic processes that utilize arsenic play a role in its biogeochemical cycling? In addition to this, the original article states that the biological function in higher animals is not known, but the sources cited seem outdated. It may be worthwhile to review more current material in order to determine if this is still unknown. The other sections in the article seem to have ample information.

Tone and Balance Evaluation:[edit]

The environmental issues section is significantly more developed than other parts of the article, but the information is relevant.

Sources and References Evaluation:[edit]

Many of the sources appear to be from before 2000, so the material listed with these sources could be updated if possible.

Organization Evaluation:[edit]

The article is well organized.

Images and Media Evaluation:[edit]

The environmental issues section does not contain any pictures or media, and because it contains a substantial amount of information, the addition of pictures may make this section more readable.
