Purna Chandra mallick (Born -1952- narisho,khurda)is a well-knownplaywright of post modern era of odia theatre.he has started his literarycarrier in writing poems and short plays since his school age, ie 1967.write----- his  higher studing at BJB and ravenshaw,he staged a good number of plays and some of them were also broadcast from AllIndia Radio, cuttack .but he got the state level reorganization as a emergingplaywright 1977.the odisha sangeeta natak akademi staged his play like OCTOPUSin 1977.AJATASATRU  in 1978,BHAGRHA EBAMKANKAN LOVI PATHI KAMANANKA KAHANI in 1980,PINGALA SAHITA GOTIE RATI in1981,NISHITH SURYA in 1984 and ABHISAPTA NISHAD in 1986.similarly the culturalekademi Rourkela ,Rourkela staged in their state level loka natak mohatschhavhis plays like ASTAGAMI SURYARA SANDESH in 1983,INSSAN in 1984,AJIRA TMSHA in1985,BISHARNA BITASHOKA in 1986,KRANTI in 1987,MAHA PURUSHA in 1998 andRAJAGHAR KATHA in 2000.He received the best play writers award from odishasangeet natak akademi for his play PINGALA SAHITA GOTIE RATI in 1981 and fromthe cultural akademi rourkela for his play AJIRA TAMSHA in 1985.he has alsowritten dialogues and lyrics for odia film NEELA MADHAB released in 1979 anddialogues for JEEVAN SANGRAM released in same year.          The specialty of his play is blendingof modernity with elements collected from folk,myth and legend.in each andevery play he has experimented
