SahibZada (His Royal Highness) Dr Loay Ali Khan is the son of SahibZada (His highness) Dr Yamin ali khan from the Princely state of Tonk.In Rajesthan, India.He is a descendant of His highness Nawab AMIR ALI KHAN,[1] 1st Nawab of Tonk 1818/1834. Though not in line to the Nawabship of Tonk ,as The Royal HH and title of Nawab is reserved to the direct offspring of the previous Nawabs.[2] As of 1989, there were 470 registered living Nawabi descendants.

The Ruling family are Pathans of the Buner tribe. In the reign of Emperor Mohammad Shah Ghazi, one Tola Khan or Taleh Khan left his home in the Buner country and took service in Rohilkhand with Ali Mohammad Khan, a Rohilla of distinction. His son, Hayat Khan, became possessed of some landed property in Sarai Tarin in the district of Moradabad, and to him, in 1768, was born Amir Khan, the founder of Tonk in 1817 by a grant of land by the ruler of Indor.[2]

Tonk is one of the well-renowned districts of Rajasthan. The city of Tonk is the administrative headquarters of the district. It is situated near the right bank of Banas, just 60 miles by road south from Jaipur. Tonk was also the capital of the eponymous princely state of British India from 1817 to 1947. Tonk has been called ‘Rajasthan ka Lucknow’, ‘Adab ka Gulshan’, ‘Romantic poet Akhtar Shreerani ki Nagri’, ‘Meethe Kharboojo ka Chaman’, and ‘Hindu Muslim Ekta ka Maskan’ . These names designate Tonk a significant status in Rajasthan.[3]

The city of Tonk is situated on National Highway No. 12 at the distance of 100 Km. from Jaipur. It is located between longitudes 75°07^ to 76°19^ and latitude 25°41^ to 26°34^. It is bounded on the north by Jaipur district, in the east by Swai Madhopur district and in the west by Ajmer district.[4]

PRESENT RULER: (His Royal Highness) Nawab Hafiz AFTAB ALI KHAN, 9th and present Nawab of Tonk since 4th September 1994.

married 1983, HH Nawab Begum Azra Khan, and has, two daughters and one son. Nawabzadi Aalia Khan. Nawabzada Junaid Ali Khan.Nawabzadi Amreen Khan.[5]
