Professor George Brinton started his career teaching English at Amherst College in 1969. In 1972 he moved to Brooklyn College of the City University of New York, where he taught English and computer science, directed the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies program and was a co-director of the Quantitative Reasoning Across the Curriculum project, funded by the National Science Foundation. He retired in 2009.
