History
[edit]In the 1940s the Seràgnoli family acquired G.D, a motorcycle factory founded in 1923. Converted into a packaging company, its business evolved over time, developing from the field of automatic wrapping and packaging machines for candies, chocolates and soaps to expand in the 1950s into the market for wrapping machines for the confectionery industry, and in the 1960s with its entry into the tobacco packaging machine sector.[3] Starting in the 1980s, CSII, a family holding company, later renamed Coesia, was born, controlling G.D the world's leading manufacturer of cigarette packaging machines.[4][5] Well-known subsidiaries include FlexLink, Norden, Hapa AG, GDM, Atlantic Zeiser GmbH, R.A Jones and Volpak.[6][7][8]
97% of sales are generated outside Italy, 68% outside the EU.[9]
