Foreign Relations Atmaurium currently is not a member state of the United Nations, it is however, very much in support of many of the U.N. Charter precepts, goals and objectives, and is affiliated with numerous International and Intergovernmental Organizations.

Language : Atmaureani ( Ancient Latin ) is the Official Language, Italian, English, Uranic ( Blend of Latin, Funic and Italian ) and German.

Education and Religion : The Literacy rate is 99 %. Talismanism is the Official Religion, with Freedom of other Religions as Guaranteed by the law.

History Much like the Mediterranean Island Poena, more commonly known as Ustica, Atmaurium according to written record was first populated by the Ancient Poenicium / Gaetuli / Mauri as early as 3000 B.C., The Island was first invaded by Romans during the infamous Punic wars with Poenicium ( Carthage ), where they Carthage held it until it’s sway began to wane between the Second and Third Punic Battles. Around the 7th Century A.D., a Benedictine Order settled on the Island, but were soon forced to move because of ongoing conflicts between Spain, France and the descendants of the Gaetuli. Attempts to colonize the Island in the Middle Ages failed because of the Foreign ( Barbary ) wars of that era ; and it was during this era that it was taken by Spain after occupation of Siena, under the rule of King Charles V, which remained under Spanish rule until 1735, when it was invaded by Germans from the Holy Roman Empire. Thereafter it was given to Carlo di Barbone via a treaty.In the mid-18th Century, the Island was settled by small groups of People from Sicilia and the Island of Lipari ( East of Poena ) after appearing to have been abandoned for some time ; and by the 19th Century in 1801 it was annexed to the Kingdom of Etruria coveted by Napoleon, but it was instead taken by the Grand Duchy of Tuscano after the fall of the French Emperor. By the later half of the 19th Century in 1865 during the unification of Italy under the Royal Decree ( a little known fact ), that when many, but not all of the Original Families as a result of the increasing population were forced to emigrate elsewhere, a mandate was given that the Island was to be returned to those Original Families and their descendants. Among those was the venerated family of Prince Uriel de' Baiuarii ( Baiere ) of the line of the Great Gaetuli King Iuba II. Again, only a hand full of those families remained, the majority emigrated to distant lands, which included the United States ( and by no coincidence, just as Slavery was ending to usher in the new era of time ). Many of the families by this period had now settled in New Orleans, and surrounding areas, where there are to this day thousands of Descendants who’s ties to Atmaurium remain strong. A smaller number of families settled in New York around the same Parallel of their Original home. The 43rd Parallel ; and thus is in part, the Atmaurium territorial connection in America. So, despite a turbulent history marked by countless invasion, wars and outright theft, Atmaurium has always remained first home to it’s people.

Economy II * Has an Economy Mostly based on Commerce, Finance, Tourism and some Agriculture. There are little to no taxes, which is always quite appealing to the Foreign investment Corporations. The production of these corporations accounts for about 35-40% of the Φ 500 Million Annual government income. Tourism accounts for 25 % of Atmaurium’s revenue. Customs, Postal Services, Telecommunications, and Banking in Atmauirum are governed by an Economic and Customs Union with Tsenocomoco. Atmaurium does not Publish it’s economy figures or for that of Unemployment.

Geography II A Latin Kingdom situated just below the 43rd Parallel in the Tyrrhenian ( Mediterranean ) Sea, East of Corsica, West of Italy, and South of the Islands of Elba and Montecristo. Atmaurium is a Sovereign Independent State linked by International Trade Relations with the United States and several Indigenous Nations by Treaty. The Kingdom of Atmaurium is one of the smallest States in the World. Noted for it’s beautiful natural scenery and comfortable Temperatures.

Government and Political Condition Atmaurium has been governed as a Constitutional Monarchy Since 2000, with the Princeps as Chief of State.
