Rajatendu Rath belongs to highest Brahmin family and fourth generation of Seraikella traditional Chhau dance cultural Family, My father Late Motilal Rath, Top dancer cum Youngest Leader of Chhau Dance troupe of Formar Bijay Laxmi Kala Bhawan, Seraikella. My grandfather Late Kedar Nath Rath, the than Secretary to the State council former Princely Seraikella State and Sardar of Nuagarh Akhda or Royal Chhau Dane Troupe. In 1952 he founded Bijay Laxmi Kala Bhawan at Seraikella for persevered and extended the unique art of world famous Seraikella Chhau Dance Culture. He contributed several dance items like Vek Hala Halo Halo Pasuraj, Arjun Singh and Kumarsambhab etc. and final judgement of dance Ratri and Megh Doot. His father Late Pandit Krushna Charan Rath was a famous oriya Poet and contributed several Purans, Books Like Udit Narayan Grathawali in 1922 and Bramhanda Puran etc. which are help of composition several dancing items. My grandfather's grandfather Late Gangadhar Rath was a exponent of Pharikar and warrior of Padahat War in 17th A.D.

[edit]I have love all art and humanities from my childhood and also participated in several drama, dance and craft competition from my school life. I have learnt Seraikella Chhau dance art under the guidance of different Gurus of Govt. Chhau Dance Centre , Seraikella. At first I display my art in locality and every Chaitra Parva held at Seraikella.
I am a dedicated, dynamic and well experienced Chhau Dancer have given many commendable performance of my collage, university, inter university, state level, national level and mega national level cultural programmes and earned appreciation from professors of different universities as well as eminent personalities of India and abroad. In 2006 got Gold medal from inter university dance competition. As the best NSS volunteer of my college culturally represented of Odisha in the NSS Republic Parade in 2008 held at New Delhi, where I have the honour of exhibiting my performance before the national personalities like the than President of India, The than Vice President of India The than Prime Minister of India, The than cabinet ministers of India as well as foreign dignitaries and in the same year highly felicitated NSS National Integration programme conferred by Ministry Of Youth affairs and Sports, Govt. of India. I have received several awards, Honours, Testimonials and accolades from different cultural institution of India for my best perfomance of Chhau dance and social works.
As a man of art and culture I have taught dances to students in different cultural centres and lead Chhau dance troupe to deferent part of Indiaand spread the glorious culture of world famous Chhau dance art. Moreover I have encouraging to rural, poor and tribal artist for upliftment and betterment for their art and culture by most voluntarily visiting their interior rural tribal villges like Vilage Tablapur, BHurkuli, Chirugara, Dhuangoun and BArmaminse for extended this great art.
