Information Culture article critique
[edit]The main header and intro line in the article does a good job of balancing the fact that Information Culture being difficult to define, giving links to fields that it is related to in order to help create perspective on the topic.
There are two main images in the articles, both are sort of collage style pictures that don’t particularly enhance the entire article, although the words in the second image help lend something of an image as to what Information Culture might actually be. This could be improved maybe through the use of a different soft of infographic, one that visually displays the links and relationships between Information Culture and other systems, such as those listed in the article like Organizational Culture, Information Technology or IT Systems.
There are at least 3 different definitions as to what Information Culture is in the main Overview segment of the article, as well as a list of potential properties that define Information Culture in organizations. This is a good representation of multiple views and perspectives on an evolving topic that has no widely accepted definition so far. It appears that most of the sections follow this philosophy of presenting information, theories and referencing material from multiple authors and viewpoints in order to widen the scope of understanding of the subject. The only point of confusion might come from the fact that there are some citations within the article that have simple endnotes that link to the References list, while others have what would be considered normal in-text citations mid-sentence, which means there’s two separate systems of reference at work here.
The endpoints of the article are well laid out and formatted, with an extensive See Also section that links to similar realms that might be related to Information Culture, such as things like Organizational Culture (narrower look at what makes up IC) or topics such as Information Systems, things that can help mediate what makes up IC. This is a good spread of info representation for those who might want to branch out and find related subjects to their initial query.
The References list appears to be comprised mostly of articles that come from scholarly journals, research publications, and other sources that would be free of any sort of corporate bias or interest. Those that come from book sources have ISBN’s attached to their reference in case someone wants to pursue that source of information outside of the article. All ideas and phrases summarized in the article appear to be properly sourced and linked to inside the reference list. The page lists one External link to an Information Studies professor at the bottom of the article, and perhaps this can be expanded upon to include why this particular individual was highlighted. Editing Gang Beasts Article
[edit]I decided to add a reference and expand (albeit slightly) upon the gameplay section of the Gang Beasts article because the information presented originally was vague on how the game itself actually worked. If someone wanted to get an understanding of how the game functioned they wouldn't quite get a full view of what the gameplay entailed. RMTP3 (talk) 07:33, 1 March 2017 (UTC)
