Ian James Foster is a Civil Celebrant working for Dumfries and Galloway Council at the Gretna Registration Office in Central Avenue Gretna. Previously he has served with the British Army around the world, ending his regular service as Regimental Sergeant Major of The King’s and Cheshire Regiment based in Warrington, Cheshire in April 2001. He went on to be Commissioned into the Royal Logistic Corp in Reserve Service where he served in Iraq with 1st Mechanised Brigade in 2004.

Having left the Reserves in 2005 he moved to Scotland.
