By its very nature, an encyclopedia should be written to rigorous, almost pedantic standards. We are not like Fandom.

The following is an incomplete list of things on the Encyclopedia that annoy me:

Short descriptions that look like auto-generated ones but aren’t:
- Short descriptions: "protein-coding gene in the species Homo sapiens" and "mammalian protein found in Homo sapiens" May have been added by a bot. Preferred replacement: "Human protein and coding gene"
- Short description: "American judge" Especially annoying for dead people mainly notable for political offices or other occupations.
- Short description: "United Kingdom legislation" when the article is about legislation passed before 1801 or even before 1707, and in some cases about Acts that were never in force in the actual UK (post-1801).
- Short description: "Military unit" This one is complicated, but in general. there's a better option.
Transcluded templates (e.g. lists of military units) that link to the page via a redirect, altering how it's displayed.
Use of "while" to begin an incomplete sentence.
Malapropisms of any kind whatsoever.
Related to previous: use of "carnivore" to mean "carnivoran", especially in shortdescs.
Noncompliance with MOS:REFERS: very common off the beaten track.
Noncompliance with MOS:SECTIONS and MOS:SECTIONCAPS: Perhaps even more common, including in very high-profile articles.
Not understanding the full nuances of WP:MPN: This is particularly egregious in anachronisms like "Breslau", which is probably always appropriate pre-1945, or various attempts to bypass consensus from WP:KYIV by some of the same people who shaped that consensus.
UK- and British Empire-related articles that extensively incorporate, verbatim, public-domain texts, without processing the information appropriately, and sometimes without attribution.
