The Abandoned building. 14 Painters lane Terrigal NSW

I can not call it a home, nor can I call it a house. This building has a secret.

Painters lane, Terrigal NSW is filled with lovely modern houses/aparentments and holiday homes. Exactly in the middle of Painters lane lies an abandoned house, this house has been abandoned for about a decade, no purchase history has been found what-so-ever. Only a government multi sale in 2010.

Meetings by the realestate and government have been made to maybe demolish both 14 and 16 lots on painters lane. But they also are finding it hard to find documentation of purchase history and infact any history about the building.

Accessing the 3 story abandoned building on painters lane is quite simple, there is a gaping hole in the barb wire fence. Jumping over barb wire, glass and thorns you will soon reach the front of the building. There you will be approached by a set of stairs and a door.

Climbing the stairs to the top floor you will find yourself in quite an odd open area filled with graffiti and broken concrete, take note that there are no windows only the frames. to your left you will find a room, being weary of where you walk you will see that this area has been set a light pulling the ceiling and the walls down with it. This fire was reported on the 6:20pm 23/10/2012. Police and Fire brigade were called to location with report of fire. Entry was forced through perimeter fencing, a small fire was located in the upstairs area of the derelict building. After extinguished, they located a pile of rubbish which had been deliberately lit. no one came forth with any information about the incident.

The 2nd floor is quite dark, with ash like walls covered again with graffiti, this floor also looks to have had floor boards ripped out of it so you can clearly see the level under you (also a quick escape if police came, or if any fires occurred.) There you will find 1 room that is strangely dark, filled with rubbish such as packets, bottles and used bongs. The 2nd room on that floor is a small bathroom, no toilet no shower, only a shower frame with a human feces in it.

descending down to the bottom level on the building, you'll need to go around the back where you'll find an easy accessible room ( as the door is completely boarded off) to your left looks like it use to be a bathroom (only tiled, walls seemed to have been removed)filled also with cans, bottles and rubbish. to your right you'll see a very dark thin room. further down to your right you'll see some small stairs leading to a room small enough to crouch in, looking up you can see that's where you can escape through if any police or fires occurred. heading out of there, straight ahead you'll see a hole in the wall (almost like the door to under the house has been ripped off)Do not go in there! although it is filled with dirt and very dark, for your safety I do recommend not going under the house.

Heading out of the building please watch your step as there is a huge amount of glass to your right when leaving the building. (this isnt bottled glass)

Our experience through the abandoned building was very interesting, dark and we had very bad feelings like we were being watched the entire time. No deaths have been reported at 14 painters lane, but there was one man named Frank Gordon Hocken that died in house 11 in 1965.
