According to the founder Rajat Padhi, the thought behind starting Screen News was to reach out to the younger generation who seldom watch television.
Screen News was one of the early arrivals on the digital media with videos covering a range of topics on politics, movies, lifestyle, and emerging social concepts in Odisha. Screen News was the pioneer of web-series in Odisha(India) with cult hits like Basibathu Hasiba Bhala and Janata Jabab Chahen. Screen News conceptualized the idea of promoting movies through creation and distribution of original digital content.
The first web series Basibathu Hasiba Bhala debuted in 2016. It was the second most-viewed long-form web series in Odisha by June 2017. Owing to its growing popularity, Screen News started promoting many Odia movies, Studio Version songs, Albums, etc.
