In his 1863 Gettysburg Address, President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed that "government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth" (Lincoln, Abraham. Gettysburg Address, 1863).

In response to that, I invoke Martin Luther's 16th-century dictum, "Here I stand; I can do no other. God help me" (Luther, Martin. Address to the Diet of Worms, 1521).

Indeed, in the words of the Gospel, "ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free" (Jesus the Nazarene, John 8:32, KJV).

"To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid World" (Jefferson, Thomas. The Declaration of Independence, 1776).

Wikipedia is a wonderfully helpful tool that allows information to exchange freely. In this quest for knowledge, "we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor" (Jefferson, Declaration of Independence).

Fiat lux.
