Randal "Reese" White, born February 21, 2001, is an American football running back for the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers.
Early life and high school career[edit]
Reese attended Riverwood International Charter High School [1] and during his football career there he was named to the 2018 Georgia All-State Team (Honorable Mention - Offense) [2]. He was honored as the 2018 Georgia 6-AAAAA Player of the Year [3] and received the 2018 North Georgia Touchdown Club (NGTC) Offensive Player of the Year award [4]. Additionally, he was a two-time 6-AAAAA All-Region team selection (2017 and 2018) and an honorable mention in 2016.
Reese recorded 34 touchdowns and 3,145 rushing yards at Riverwood, which entailed back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons on the ground as a junior and senior. During his senior year, he carried the ball 176 times for 1,771 yards and 21 touchdowns (a school record). He averaged 10.1 yards per carry, 161.0 yards per game, and totaled nine 100-plus yard rushing games. Also had 13 catches for 193 yards and seven kick returns for 157 yards in his final season at Riverwood. He led the Raiders to an 8-3 overall record and the first round of the 2018 Georgia High School Association (GHSA) AAAAA state championship playoffs.
College career[edit]
A three-star recruit by 24/7 Sports [5], White committed to Coastal Carolina to play college football on December, 5 2018 and signed with them a few weeks later on December 19, 2018. He enrolled into Coastal Carolina in August, 2019.
Freshman year[edit]
- Played in 10 games, missing the Georgia State (Oct. 12) and Georgia Southern (Oct. 19) games due to an illness
- Carried the ball 36 times for 167 yards and three touchdowns
- Caught four passes for 90 yards and two touchdowns
- Averaged 4.6 yards per rush and 22.5 yards per reception on the season
- Was fifth on the team with 30 points on five touchdowns
- Rushed a season-high six times for a season-high 54 yards and scored once on the ground in the road win at UMass (Sept. 21)
- Also hauled in a 24-yard touchdown pass in the win over the Minutemen
- Toted the ball four times for 24 yards and two touchdowns in the home win over Norfolk State (Sept. 14)
- Ran for 19 yards on six carries in the season finale against Texas State (Nov. 30)
- Had five carries for 21 yards and one catch for eight yards in the home game versus Louisiana (Nov. 7)
- Rushed twice for 24 yards in the home win over Troy (Nov. 2)
- Caught two passes for 58 yards and a touchdown, including a 41-yard catch in the road contest at ULM (Nov. 23)
Sophomore year[edit]
- Earned All-Sun Belt honorable mention honors
- Played in all 12 contests on the season at running back and as a kick returner
- Rushed 88 times for 478 yards and six touchdowns on the season, both of which were third on the team
- Averaged 5.4 yards per carry out of the backfield
- Also caught three passes for 53 yards
- Returned one kickoff for 19 yards
- Was fifth on the team with 36 points on six scores
- Ran for a career-high 81 yards on nine carries and caught two passes for 21 yards out of the backfield in the home win over South Alabama (Nov. 7)
- Rushed for 72 yards and one touchdown on just seven carries in the road win at Texas State (Nov. 28)
- Toted the ball 11 times for 68 yards in the win at No. 21 Louisiana (Oct. 14)
- Carried the ball 12 times for 53 yards and a late touchdown in the win over No. 8 BYU (Dec. 5)
- Also found the end zone on the ground in wins over Campbell (Sept. 18), Georgia Southern (Oct. 24), Georgia State (Oct. 31), and Appalachian State (Nov. 21)
- Had a season-long reception of 32 yards in the road win at Troy (Dec. 12)
Junior year[edit]
- Week 2 - Sun-Belt Conference Player of the week
- Tabbed to the 2021 Pro Football Focus (PFF) College Football Preseason All-Sun Belt first team
- Named to the 2021 Athlon Sports Preseason All-Sun Belt first team
- Earned a spot on the 2021 Phil Steele Preseason SBC All-Conference fourth team
