[edit]- Samuel Plato designed it in 1914 when the Quaker abolitionist community outgrew their 19th century church.
- First Friends Church on Adams Street
- First Friends Church was a community center that gave space to the African American community of Indianapolis and promoted abolitionist ideologies.
- Samuel Plato employed both Black crew members and white crew members to work on the building.[1]
Endangered Landmark Status
