Vishaal Niyanand was born in Deoria district, Uttar Pradesh, India. He spent his childhood and teenage in Varanasi, Allahabad, Deoria, and Siddharthnagar districts in north India. He had done his graduation from Allahabad University and M.A. in Mass Communication from M.C.R.P University. He has started his journey as a documentary filmmaker in early 2005 and produced/directed many development communication projects, documentaries, audiovisuals, media tools, articles. He has also done theatre and created his own theatre group named Awaaz.

He signed his first Hindi feature film ‘Aarambh’ as lead actor directed by Hyderabad based Director Smitha Sashidharan in 2006. Film has not compeleted yet. In 2007 he started his own production house and directed several documentaries on national and international issues. He also found a media service organisation named Avagat dedicted to development communication work in 2009.

At present he is a Chairman of Cinematic Arts Productions Pvt Ltd and involved in several cinematic projects as Producer/Director/Artist .

Vishaal Nityanand (Vishal Puri) was born in Deoria district, Uttar Pradesh, India. He spent his childhood and teenage in Varanasi, Allahabad, Deoria, and Siddharthnagar districts in north India. In early 2007, he decided to change his title and announced publicly that he don't belong to any caste, creed or relegion and change his title 'Puri' to 'Nityanand'. Same year he started his own production house named 'Cinematic Arts Productions' and directed several documentaries on national and international issues. He also found a media service organisation named Avagat dedicated to development communication work in 2009.

At present he is the Chairman of Cinematic Arts Productions Pvt Ltd and involved in several cinematic projects as Producer/Director/Artist .

In his leisurely times he likes to paint and has done a painting series called 'Space, Time and Colour' which was appreciated by several Art Critics.
