Loretta was nicknamed Leah by her parents growing up as a child and many close friends still call her Leah. In the last election she ran under the name of Leah Lax.

Loretta lived at 526 South Front Street in Philadelphia above her families restaurant. Her mother and her father raised Loretta there and her Grandmother Bluma had a chicken store right across the street. Loretta was extremely close with her Grandmother and would spend hours talking and playing with her. At the age of 4 her Grandmother gave her a gosling and Loretta raise the gosling she named it Mini and walked it up and down South Street on a leash.

At the age of 9 years old Loretta's father had a massive heart attack and Loretta's childhood went into a suspension. Loretta had to grow up very quickly to help take over the family business. She learned how to cook from her grandmother and she spent hours after school preparing food and cleaning the entire store with her mom. She would order foods. She was up at 4am to walk to the markets at Dock street with her mom and other wholesale food suppliers as Shupak Pickles Franks soda Loretta ran and took charge of the Restaurant named Relax With Lax until she was 14 years old. Loretta never had a chance to be a child she became an adult as a very young age.

Loretta learned how to sew and was designing clothes at 14 years of age Another passion of Loretta's was painting and loved to paint in her spare time. Her mother realizing Loretta's skills with a sewing machine bought a property at 341 South Street and opened a store called FAYEE'S PIK & PAY where she sold ready made slip covers , drapes and custom sown items made by Loretta. Loretta also made her own designer dresses which she sold at the store under a private label.

Loretta unhappy and lonely made friends outside of school. She joined groups of Jewish Youths and met the young Benjamin Netanyahu at a dance in Cheltenham, Pa. They became close friends and vowed to be friends forever.

Loretta knew she didn't want to sew drapes and slip covers for the rest of her life. She enrolled in the Academy of Arts and Science in Philadelphia taking evening classes to become a medical and X-ray technologist while she was still in High School. At the age of 17 Loretta graduated South Philadelphia High School. It had been a struggle for her to keep her grades up and act as head of the family but she managed.

Loretta had a passion for Art and Painting. She applied to almost every Art School in Philadelphia to be rejected for being a Academic Painter. The art colleges were looking for a more abstract approach than what she presented in her portfolio. Her last chance to study under the great Artists Philadelphia had to offer was at Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. She received a letter confirming her acceptance and they loved her work. Loretta attended The Academy from 1968 to 1971.

Community And Politics[edit]

In 1977 Loretta helped John Heinz to become senator of Pennsylvania. She had attended a few meetings and the he had asked for ideas. Loretta's idea was to place John Heinz on each table in Pennsylvania. She suggested that the tiny hotel bottles of ketchup should be given away at rallies. On the label she suggested it should read "57 reasons to elect John Heinz". That slogan caught on like wide fire.
Loretta and her husband became active in the community of Bella Vista in Philadelphia, where they prevented the Queens Village and the South Street Business association from extending and charging a clean up tax to the residences of Bella Vista. Loretta stopped the South Street Project right in it's tracks and was subsequently elected to be the Committee person for that area.

While as committee person, Loretta strove to improve her community. She met with Mayor Wilson Goode to discuss the many problems that plagued Philadelphia. Mayor Good along with Loretta cleaned up Bella Vista and South street from gang related crimes. They placed Mini Police Stations in central locations to enable the police a quicker response time. This started as a trial program and proved to be very successful.
Loretta worked with the people of Philadelphia to make it safer

The Short Retirement[edit]

Loretta and Jordan retired and moved to Royal Palm Beach August 15th, 2003. On October 18th 2003, Jordan died in Loretta's arms leaving her in great grief after 26 years of a happy marriage. Many people sent Loretta cards and flowers expressing their sympathy. Loretta shut herself in her home for one year and that is when Hurricane Frances and Jean hit Palm Beach county which caused massive blackouts, damaged homes and business. Loretta was the main instigator in getting water and food in areas long forgotten by the officials of Palm Beach County. She got blankets donated from business, she assisted in setting up food kitchens. She went shopping for elderly and infirm neighbors who could not get out She got business to donate generators to the people who needed electricity for medical care.

In 2005 Hurricane Wilma hit and almost everyone in Palm Beach County had no water, food, gasoline, electric, or phones. This lasted for around six weeks. After six weeks Loretta called FPL with a cell phone and asked when the electricity was going to be restored, FPL told her they expect another 6 weeks. Loretta said that is not acceptable. With her last gallon of gasoline she turned on the portable generator and connected her computer and made cards with the name and the personal telephone number of the owner of FPL and stood in the Wellington Mall handing them out to everyone who passed by. They wrote down her name and called as she instructed them to. The electricity was back on at 9pm that day. People didn't forget her good deed. The people of Palm Beach County District 6 wanted to nominate her to run for Commissioner but she gracefully bowed out before they placed her name on the ballot.

Loretta helped tent families who lost everything due to Hurricane Wilma. These families were living in a tent city outside Lake Worth's city limits. They were hungry with no food and water and Loretta organized the people of Palm Beach County to donate food. Loretta stopped the police from arresting a tent city resident because he was begging for money to buy bones to make soup for his family. Loretta not only paid for the bones but also bought him meat to put into the soup for his family who were starving. She believes that those in office are forgetting the voiceless citizens who live day in and day out trying to find food and shelter for their families.

Meeting Barack Hussien Obama[edit]

After meeting with Barack Hussein Obama at a Grass Roots Campaign meeting in Palm Beach County Florida, Loretta joined the eligibility movement where she gave attorney's standing who were fighting to see Obama's Birth Certificate. These same followers who defended Obama's Citizenship challenged Loretta with wanting to see her Birth Certificate as well. Loretta said jokingly "If Obama shows me his I'll show you mine". But Loretta could not understand why it took Obama four years to present a birth certificate when in one of his books Obama claims he has a birth certificate in a safety deposit box. His excuse as to why he wasn't showing the short or long form didn't make sense to Loretta.
Every time Loretta's name was on the ballot and paid for the ballot, Obama and the Democratic Party decided to go into caucus not inviting Loretta into their closed circle. Even though her name ended up as a write-in, many people wrote Loretta's name in and the Main Stream Media ignored her, she won a good 55,000 votes and was listed as other.

SAGA[edit]

The SAGA (Society Against Guardianship Abuse) Protection of Elderly Law Bill(SAGA-PELB) which will give the families equal rights in the caring of the Ward. This bill will restrict the Guardian's dictatorship over the finances and place of residence by stopping the Guardian from moving them and isolating them from love ones, families and friends. This Bill will also require the signature of the Guardian as well as two family members. That way the Guardians can not buy personal items for themselves, re-model their homes, buy new cars etc.
Not only is this a financial problem but also an emotional problem with Guardians using tracker anklets on the elderly. They are not allowed to leave the place they are living and are required to sit quiet, not talk, and watch TV or they will be drugged. [[ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boxed_warning%7CBlack box drugs]] such as tranquilizers and neuroleptics, antipsychotic drugs, mood altering drugs, and gauze restraints are used on an everyday basis. The SAGA-PELB will require Federal Regulations on Guardians with a FBI background check on all employees of the Guardians.
