                         WIN vs DEFEAT

ATTITUDE /MOTTO: TO WIN or TO DEFEAT (defeat the opponents)

1. In a movie named ‘Three idiots’ a character, Mr. Chaturlingam wants to become topper by defeating the others. He adopted the unfair means; supplied porn magazines to his inmates thus disturbed their studies. Whereas, the hero, Mr. Chanchor encouraged his friends to study more and more not to become topper but for excellence; success would run after. 2. The recent Delhi election; despite of being labelled as ‘absconding’, the AAP party showed the astounding outcome. All the opponents pointed and highlighted their running away from the responsibility. The other political parties tried and put effort to defeat AAP but the AAP engaged itself in making worthy to win and hence the result.

Win vs. defeat; in both the cases the outcome may seems to be the same i.e. achieve, gain or procure something with effort. What I mean to say is that someone wins I mean one achieves something and someone defeats others I mean one achieves. Achievement might be the same but all the other aspects are different like black and white.

Wining: - Achievement is always by means of honest effort and with excellence. Defeat: – Achievement may be by means of cheating, fraudulent and dishonest effort. Wining: - Result is prestigious; victory with excellence and praise worthy which brings fame. In the long run the result becomes the matter of glory. Defeat: - Result may not be prestigious, victory not with excellence and may be condemnable even criminal. In the long run the result becomes the matter of infamy / shame.

It is better to keep away the proverb ‘there is nothing unfair in love and war’. This proverb is meant and suited or fit for the cheats, frauds and shameless persons, not for those whose motto is to serve the people.
