Em-Eukal with the classic flag

Em-eukal is a trademark of the company Dr. C. Soldan from Adelsdorf.

The first candy with this name, which contains menthol and eucalyptus, was sold since 1923 as medication. In 1972 the company released a special version for children, Kinder-Em-eukal.

Today, the candy gets sold in pharmacies and convenient stores. Em-eukal and Kinder-Em-eukal are available as lozenges, lollipops and gumdrops.

Trademark

[edit]

The Em-eukal trademark was registered in 1928.

Another registered trademark of the lozenges is a white/red band with the text "Nur echt mit der Fahne" (Only genuine with the flag) which was initially introduce for hygiene purposes. Using the flag one could open the paper the lozenge is wrapped in without touching the candy itself.

The picture of a small boy on the package of Kinder Em-eukal is protected as a design mark.

The manufacturer also sold cold medicine in the past.[1]
