Actually, stuff it. I did have a little bit of blurb about myself here. I am no longer sure why I bothered. I have deleted the lot.

I'm a qualified teacher of History and English, but alas that does not qualify me to write stuff for Wikipedia. I mostly taught French and Latin, but I am incapable of translating the language in which the help pages are written.

I shall continue to do my humble best to contribute when & if I see a gap which I am confident of being able to fill competently, or an error which can be corrected readily. For now, at least. But I have found repeatedly over a two-year period that uploading stuff onto Wikipedia is like building sand-castles at low tide: within hours, what one laboured so long & so lovingly to create is swept remorselessly away.
