In the Information technology operations article, I further expanded on two different services that are categorized under information technology operations. They include IT operations managment and IT operations analytics. Rgopalani (talk)
· Article title: Digital Literacy
· Link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_literacy
The purpose of this article is to help the user understand what is digital literacy, and this article also helps a reader differentiate the difference between digital literacy and computer literacy. The article that I am critiquing is substantially long, there seems to be a lot of details. However, on the top of the page, there is a notice that says that the article does have a lot of issues.
One of the biggest issues that this article has is that not all the facts are referenced. I easily know this since there is a notice on the top that says that the article needs additional citations, and the use of the links might not be following the Wikipedia guidelines. What this means is that either the sources used don’t have legitimate information. Or the issue could be that one of the author has directly plagiarized the work and didn’t paraphrase the work.
Everything that I read in the article seemed to be relevant to the main topic of digital literacy. What was interesting was the author distinguished what was the difference between digital and computer literacy. Another interesting topic that the author brings up in the reading is the difference between a digital native versus a digital immigrant. This topic is interesting because it helps people understand how and why people that were not born in our generation aren’t able to use technology that we use every day with no issue, and why our parents, or at least mine, sometimes struggle with understanding how to use a device. This article seems to have no bias whatsoever.
The information for this article, according to the references, comes from some journals that were written about 10 years ago. Although the information that is on this page might be accurate to those articles, the information that is provided on this page would still be said to be out of date. Additionally, I wouldn’t trust the references that were provided at the bottom the page, because at the top of the page, the Wikipedia page notifies the user that the article itself has many issues, and in addition, there are issue with the use of external links, which could lead to problems with the references. One final warning that this article gives to the user is that this article needs more citations in order to verify if the information that is provided is accurate.
