Edmonton Green Library is a public library in Enfield, London, United Kingdom. It is located in the South Mall of the Edmonton Green Shopping Centre.[1] It is one of the largest of Enfield Libraries, part of the services delivered by the London Borough of Enfield.
History
[edit]Passmore Edwards Library 1897-
[edit]The first Edmonton Green Library was built in 1897 following a donation from John Passmore Edwards, one of 24 libraries built by the philanthropist.[2]
The building is now used as Mevlana Rumi Mosque.
South Mall
The library is now located in Edmonton's South Mall
Recent history
In 2002 the library won a prize for the best library event celebrations for the initiative Family Learning Weekend.[3]
In 2014 a woman gave birth in the library, with library staff calling paramedics.[4]
