Ryan Bedrosian

Ryan Bedrosian (born in February 1983) is currently a Principal at Bedrosian & Associates and Founder and CEO of Benefit Agents. He is a member of Entrepreneurs Organization, Million Dollar Round Table, International Society of Certified Employee Benefit Specialists (ISCEBS) and Sand Hill Angels.

Early Life

Ryan Bedrosian was born in Burlingame, CA. He attended St. Charles in San Carlos and attended Junìpero Serra High School in San Mateo, CA. Ryan was the class president in his junior and senior year and graduated with honors. He continued his education at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) where he graduated with a B.A. degree in Law & Society. During his studies Ryan worked full-time at Bacara Resort & Spa. Upon graduation he decided to put law aside and pursue insurance.

Career

Ryan began his career at Bedrosian & Associates in 2005. Ryan's father, Ronald Bedrosian established the business in 1972. Bedrosian & Associates offers employee benefit packages to all business types and sizes, ranging from startups to large corporations and national franchises. Ryan works closely with all of the major medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance carriers in California and across the United States. When Health Care Reform was taking shape, Ryan Bedrosian formed Benefit Agents with Arman Vahdatinia. Benefit Agents simplifies the Covered California education and enrollment process for many California residents.

Ryan works with many forward thinking companies in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has supported multiple successful startups including: Assistly (acquired by Salesforce now Desk)[1], Twilio, and Longboard Media (acquired by Bazaarvoice).[2]

Ryan is on multiple advisory committees with medical carriers and administrators such as California Choice, Kaiser Permanente and United Healthcare.

As of January 2016, Ryan formed the company Simple Life in order to evolve the insurance industry. Simple Life is proprietary software which will be distributed to HR and employees across the state of CA. Simple Life focuses on employer size companies with 2-100 employees.

Awards and Recognition

  • Ryan is a top performing broker with Kaiser Permanente, Blue Shield of California, California Choice, Guardian, Premier Access, Standard Insurance Company.
  • Bedrosian & Associates is a preferred agency with Word & Brown, Warner Pacific and LISI.
  • Benefit Agents was a Top 15 agency in California who sold the most Covered California policies.
  • Ryan earned his Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation through the Wharton School of Business in 2007. The CEBS curriculum represents specialized knowledge in group benefits, retirement, and compensation. It is the only professional certification in total compensation and only about 7,000 individuals actively hold the designation in the U.S[3].
  • Ryan is a lifetime member of the Certified Long-Term Care (CLTC) designation[4].
  • Ryan qualified for the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) Court of the Table in 2008.
  • Ryan has qualified as a Top of the Table (TOT) member in 2014, 2015, and 2016 putting him in the top 1% of total MDRT members. The TOT achievement is recognized worldwide by only 1,800 financial professionals annually. To qualify for these higher tiers of membership, the applicant must demonstrate annual commission of first year income three to six times the base requirement.[5]
