Hi everybody. I'm an polyglot American who resides in Brazil and likes to help people, myself included understand things, observing how themes are mitigated by others representing different languages and cultures and clients, and by suggesting ways to maybe help make things better. I enjoy political events, biographies, contemporary popular and jazz music, the politics associated with the migration of media from the historic Walter Lippman "Public Trust" model to online "feelings" and "storytelling" and the nexus of Cold War disinformation that we often call "fake or fact." I am also interested in the politics and discussion of the Abrahamic Religions.

What I do for a living is about the same as what Hyman Roth in The Godfather (played by Lee Strasberg) told the audience... "I'm retired and live on a small pension." As for my education, I am a certified 1960s college dropout from a "midwestern Ivy" and subsequently received non-degree French language training at Harvard University, Spanish language training at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, received a Certificat from the French Civilization Institute at the Universite de Paris IV (Sorbonne) long ago. Recently I completed Rice University's "America through foreign eyes" distance learning courses. I seek to take a focused approach in my activities. Or, as Navy commanders like to tell their hot-dog carrier pilots... "keep your eye on the meatball." If you don't know what is the "meatball" I can help you find out, even though I have never been in the Navy.
