Ricky Lee Clay is a 27 year military veteran of both the US Army, and the US Navy (Submarines), a Bishop in the Universal Life Church with a master's degree in religion, and Historian (Military). He currently lives Just north of Ft Worth Texas.

HISTORY

Ricky Clay was born in the village of Nyack, New York on April 22 1967. Census Records show Ricky's family has lived in the same area of southern New York since the mid 1700's. Ricky's oldest brother, his mother, his grandmother, and his great grandmother were all born in the same hospital (Nyack). His genealogy has been traced back to the Clan Ross from the Highlands of Scotland. Ricky is the third son of Albert Harry clay, and Carole Ann Harris.

Ricky's early childhood years were spent, for the most part in lower Rockland County New York. Ricky's parents divorced in 1976 so he moved several times as a child. In 1981 Ricky and his older Brother Bryan were sent to live with their father who was residing in Colorado at the time. In 1983 Ricky's father moved his family to Washington State. Shortly after this move, due to personal reasons Ricky left his home and at the age of 14 hitchhiked his way back to colorado to live with Friends. Ricky lived in the home of Jack and Linda McClure, in Northglenn, Colorado until he entered military service at the age of 17.

MILITARY SERVICE

On August 21, 1984 Ricky enlisted into the U.S. army and was sent to fort Leonard wood Missouri for basic training serving with its Alpha company fourth battalion fourth training brigade. After basic training Ricky's served with a 244th engineering battalion, 96th ARCOM as a combat engineer. in 1988 he switch from combat engineer, to mechanized infantry serving with HHC 3/161 Inf (M) 9th infantry division, Fort Lewis Washington.

In 1990 after six years of service with the army Ricky elisted and the U.S. navy and reported to the naval training center, great lakes Illinois. After naval basic training Ricky reported to Groton Connecticut for basic enlisted submarine school. Ricky's first naval assignment was to the USS Philadelphia(SSN-690). While serving on board the Philadelphia as the leading Seaman, and helmsman, Ricky took part in several major deployment, including a deployment to the Arctic, and being one of four U.S. naval submarines to participate in operation desert shield/desert storm. In July of 1992 after attending Naval Hospital Corps School Ricky was transfered and reported to the U.S. naval hospital Pensacola Florida.

Ricky served in Pensacola as a naval hospital corpsman working in the Family Practice Clinic, assisting with minor surgical procedures. During his time in Pensacola, he also receved his certification as a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician. In April of 1994 he was honorably discharged from the navy and relocated to Texas to join his family.

After active military service Ricky continued military service as part of the army National Guard of Texas. In 1999 Ricky was selected as third birgade, 49 armored division's soldier of the year. In 2005 Ricky was selected for service with the United States army cadet corps (USACC), where he served as the commanding officer, Military cadets of Texas. In 2011 Ricky was promoted to the rank of Major, and assigned as the Commanding Officer, 2nd Battalion, 1st CTB. His National duties include assignment as Deputy Chief of Staff (S-5), and Chief Chaplian of the Army Cadets of America.

POLITICAL HISTORY

Ricky has had a long interest in politics. In 2000 Ricky ran for United States Congress Texas District 12 as the libertarian candidate. After a Long active campaign, He was defeted in the election by the incumbent Congresswoman Kay granger(R), Not detered, Ricky continued and is still active in politics at the grassroots level. Ricky was asked to be, and briefly served as the president of the fort worth 9-12 tea party group before resigning his post due to Diffrences of opinions with the board of Directors.

CURRENTLY

In 1997 Ricky was ordained in the Universal Life Church, He was made Bishop in April, 2011 and is currently the head of the Universal life church, Fort Worth, Texas. Bishop Clay is also Owner of Weddings your way, a non-denominational service provider, specializing in non-traditional weddings, and a full time student. Bishop Clay is a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a member of the Clan Ross Association of the United States, , a Member of the Order of the Emerald Cross, and a member of Phi Theta Kappa

FAMILY

Ricky is married to the former Jennifer DeRosear of Primrose, Iowa, he has five children 3 Girls, and 2 Boys.(Kelle Marie burton of Eugene of Oregon, Ivy Victoria Smith of Arlington Texas, Alexander Morgan clay of Fort Worth, Courtney Nicole Clay of fort worth, and Vincent Paul clay of Fort Worth. He also has two grandchildren.
