The film was mainly based on the legend of Karma Wangzin produced by the Jigme Wangchuk (Golden Pictures) and directed by Tshering Penjor (Paco)[1] . The movie lends a brief insight into the meditational practices. It attempts at showing the different stages of death and the wandering spirit in Bardo. Being a semi religious story, It attempts to convey the message of good and peace by showing the visuals of the different kinds of suffering in hell
Plot
[edit]Karma Wangzin film is based on the legend of Karma Wangzin, the movie revolves around Karma, a simple village girl. Karma spends her childhood playing with Sonam. They fall in love with each other when they grow up. Jawo Ruta, the rich landlord of Sonam has his eyes set on Karma. He asks her parents for her hand in marriage and the parents agree as they are indebted to him. After Karma weds Jawo Ruta, Sonam is left heartbroken. Sonam and Karma run away only to be found and tortured by Jawo Ruta. After their death, Karma remains in the sate Bardo for seven days. A deity Vajra Yogini shows Karma the different kinds of hell and suffering that the sinners must endure for the various sins committed by them while they were alive. She witnesses the judgment of a sinner and a saint
