Rob currently lives in Suwanee, GA. Having grown up in the Northeast, in Simsbury, Connecticut. In 1998 when he was 18 years of age, he is the only student-athlete to ever be drafted by a professional team (Atlanta Braves) out of Simsbury High School. He turned down playing with the Atlanta Braves to attend college at The University of Georgia. He spent his college years studying Business Administration at UGA, where he was also a scholar-athlete for baseball. During his time at University of Georgia, Rob brought the Bulldogs to the College World Series in Omaha, NB. He was drafted after college in the 10th round of the 2001 MLB Draft by the Texas Rangers. With a promising pitching career in front of him, was sidelined by a back injury, sustained during spring training.
