CXorf36[edit]

Introduction[edit]

Chromosome X open reading frame 36, commonly known as CXorf36, is a human gene[1]. Currently, CXorf36 has unknown structure and function within the cell system. Aliases listed in GeneCards are hypothetical protein LOC79742, FLJ14103, DKFZp313K0825, FLJ55198, PRO3743, FLJ55198, hCG1981635, bA435K1.1, and 4930578C19Rik[2]. Antibodies, primers, and assays for CXorf36 are available from companies such as Millipore and Origene[3].

Gene Locus & Protein Mass[edit]

The gene is located on Xp11.3 and the mass of the produced protein is 48,555Da.

Transcript Variants[edit]

The CXorf36 gene has two transcript variants, and the longest transcript is the one discussed here. Transcript variant 1, believed to be involved in protein coding, has two accession numbers, NM_176819.3 and NP_789789.2[4].

Orthologous Species[edit]

CXorf36 has several orthologs, some of which include Gallus gallus, Mus musculus, Rattus norvegicus, Danio rerio, and Bos taurus.
