Travis Olson

[edit]

Travis Benjamin Kamakani Olson (born on November 28th, 1994) is musician, story writer, song writer, and collector. He is best known for his band Ullysee Nardin.

Early Life

[edit]

Travis had a rather insolated child hood, had a few friends, and rarely socialized. It not that he wanted to be by himself, but he was fastidious with he encountered. Not much is is known really, but until he was 15, his interest in cars grew when he bought an MG Midget he named Bridget the Midget after a famous car that circled the world. He was far from a ladies man, and had two girlfriends, who of which he adored, and one he despised. In an interview in Indiana, the reporter at one of Travis' shows, asked about the both of them for details, but he shrugged him off, and was quite for the rest of the night.

Ullysee Nardin

[edit]

Travis had an interest in writing, mainly short stories reflecting on 1000 year old fables. In a journal he was given by his 1st girlfriend, he wrote and organized his ideas which soon would become songs. On his 15 year old keyboard, he brought them alive with such enthusiasm, and soon he needed a place to share them. In February, he found a club in Indiana called Rock Dock, and it was there he played his first solo. The audience (already fans of fables) became enthusiastic of his music, and soon he returned every weekend. The president of the club didn't like Travis, he found him too quite and awkward, but later on he changed his mind. Within a few weeks, more band members were playing on stage with Travis, one of which was Wayne Wesolowski, a 20 year old from Michigan City who was a singer for previous bands. Soon there was an assortment of musicians, including 2 drummers, xylophonists, harpists, violinists, and many more. Travis remained a keyboardist. On August 3rd, 2013, Ullysee Nardin's first song was played on 90.7FM in Indiana. The exact station is unknown. Then a few days after, Travis announced at Rock Dock, his first album was in the making, along with a vinyl record, and a complimentary book to be thrown in with the package. A release date is unknown, and the high cost of production may seize the release date even further. In Summer 2014, Ullysee Nardin is said to do their first tour in Europe, stopping in England, Germany, and Italy. Founding is still growing for the project.

Bridget the Midget

[edit]

In a paper written by Travis, he mentioned in great detail of his most favorite car of all, his MG Midget. He bought it on Ebay, and drove to Ogdensburg, New York to collect it. The car has been a restoration project, and far from being completed. On June 15th, 2012, Travis drove his MG to a car show was his girlfriend, and on the way there, the car seized, and since then, he had never even sat in the car since. As of now, the engine is being overhauled, and the collection date of the car is unknown. In early 2013, a competition was made by Top Gear to find the neatest ride of the year, Bridget was entered: and won by 52% vote.

Se7en 8ight Project

[edit]

Fans of Ullysee Nardin often check up on a blog made by Travis called the Se7en 8ight project, and it has been a mystery ever since. It is speculated, his project is about becoming rich, other agree he is looking for a family, while a few fans are clueless of his intentions. Apparently, thousands of dollars had been spent by Travis for a project he created that would take near 10 years to make. In the first post, he spoke of his obsession of intelligent and well mannered people he once knew, and promised himself to be one of the influential people he met in order to escape his arrogant family, full of hate, and illiteracy, and then the post ended. Others posts were updated, but none were as daring, and informative, and passionate as the original. In an interview at Rock Dock, a reporter asked about his blog, and he gave little insight of the matter. He explained the people he once knew, and the mistakes he made that made sure he would never socialize with them again, hence a inquiry to find them again. Several topics were questioned in that blog, but even today, the reason of the blog is unknown.

Invicta Movements

[edit]

In late 2012, Travis met with a business partner (name is unknown) to start a small company (Invicta Movements). Both of them were avid watch and clock enthusiasts, and soon they took order by Swiss companies to cover shipping responsibilities while exporting into China. Some of the watches were even shipped into America in Chicago and St. Louis. As of June 2013, plans were set to move into a new office in Chicago, however, not much has been said about it after a small announcement. The company is very private with no advertisement, and no store front. It is unclear if the profit of the business, but with the business partner's ownership of a Ferrari, and Travis donating a large sum into a British Railway shop to be part owner of a steam locomotive, and donations to a French auto museum, and his own car collection, it could be said the company is well off.

Literature

[edit]

In August of 2013, Travis spoke with members of Rock Dock about a complimentary book he is writing, it is said to be mainly a picture book to augment his music, and give a broader appreciation for the stories in his songs. Hundreds of old photographs have been collected, and a few short stories may be added, but there is no finished product. He announced he wanted it to arrive when his album was finished, as well as a vinyl record.
