First class pronouns can perform three functions: subjective (subject), objective (direct object), and relative (indirect object, and possessive or genitive). Ixé, endé, and peẽ are used only subjectively, as independent forms.
Fourth class pronouns simultaneously perform the functions of both subject and direct object.
