All statistics correct as of 22 May 2020.

The 2020–21 Liga I will be the 31st season of the top level women's football league of the Romanian football league system. It will decide the Romanian champions and UEFA Women's Champions League participant. Since the previous season, the league was temporarily expanded from 12 to 14 teams, for just this season, since the 2019-20 Coronavirus pandemic forced an early finish to the 2019–20 women's football season in Romania.[1] As such, the 14 teams will compete in a double round-robin of 26 stages, for a total of 182 matches. Teams ranked 13th and 14th at the end of the season will relegate, while those ranked 11th and 12th will face two teams from the 2020–21 Liga II in play-offs for the 2021–22 Liga I.

U Olimpia Cluj are the defending champions.[2]
