Roman's Biography

Early Days: Roman Terry was born in Hollywood, California, March 6, 1962. Raised and schooled in Monterey Hills, South Pasadena, California. During the entire eighth grade, he was taken on an around-the-world backpacking trip with his parents and sister. He self-taught himself the eighth grade by way of lugging school books all through their travels to over 40 countries. This trip would later have a profound influence on him. He went on to graduate with the class of 1980, South Pasadena High School.

Education & Military Service: After attending Pasadena City College, University of Hawaii, Azusa Pacific University and Chowan University of North Carolina, with a 4.0 average Roman continued to attend various educational endeavors outside the mainstream college curriculum. A Road Scholar approach to higher education was applied to a Masters Degree in Communications.

A primary research project was aimed at acquiring a doctorate degree. The PhD thesis focused on "Alternative Quantum Energy" similar to the dissemination and reproduction of Orgone Energy [term first coined by Dr. Wilhelm Reich. Mr. Terry based much of his research and findings on Dr. Reich's theories coupled with Tesla research].

""In the 1950's a brilliant scientist and researcher, Dr. Wilhelm Reich, who comparatively speaking was on par with the likes of Albert Einstein or Dr. Nicola Tesla, had applied to the US Patent Office for something that he titles, Orgone Energy. He claims this will revolutionize the medical world. He also claimed that Orgone Energy if properly harnessed, could reduce gas and petroleum consumption significantly. Who did him in is anyone's guess. Far too many now have motive. an intelligence service, gas and oil companies, the medical industry, the list is really endless on who could have been harmed if indeed his research panned out. What we do know is in the 1950's the United States government raided and confiscated most of Dr. Reich's scientific papers, books and lab notes, burning them in a New York City incendiary. As hard as this is to fathom, he shortly after was falsely convicted and sent to prison. Within weeks is found dead in his prison cell. This is really unacceptable. Fight back America."

Roman simultaneously worked on a second PhD thesis, "Self-Help Group & Social Module Reform -- Drastic Changes 12-Step Movements Need For Authority." This second PhD started as a 'White-Paper' though soon became evident that its scope was too vast for a white paper and a thesis was developed towards application to the PhD.Its practical and possible impact on society simply cannot be ignored, though its very radical and divergent views may take getting accustomed to. Mr. Terry explains why the success rate within the 12 Step Groups, has declined since the late 1930's and will continue to do so. The central idea of the thesis is taken from sources that are difficult to disprove, including hard statistics [data and studies taken from multiple nationally & internationally recognized organizations, such as WHO,NIDA, FDA, DEA and Federal Court Records. These were cross-referenced with published materials sanctioned directly from the 12-Step governing bodies themselves; I.E. A.A. [Alcoholics Anonymous] and N.A.[Narcotics Anonymous] World Services Office.] His research is based on multiple well documented case studies of the merits and shift in ideology and group protocols within certain isolated groups that managed to break away from conventionality. Groups that effectively widened the gap between those compliant with group attendance and those non-attendees with spontaneous remission.

During the mid 1980's Mr. Terry was also a member of the United States Armed Forces, in a special program with the United Stated Marine Corp. Shortly after receiving an honorable discharge, he began a career with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, International Finances Division. This work gave him the opportunity to live and work abroad, in San Jose, Costa Rica, Central America.

Roman's Interests

To date Mr. Terry has traveled to over 60 countries, or roughly 22% of the world's countries. His favorite vacation spots are cited as Maui,Isla Mujeres, Caribbean and Tiwi Beach, Mombasa, Africa. He claims they provide the perfect place for under-water photography. Roman has been an avid advanced certified Scuba Diver since the age of 16. He also favors hiking and tennis and has climbed to the summit of Mt. Whitney, the highest mountain in the continental United States. He would still like to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa.

Other Past-times: His other interests include writing screenplays, creating travel blogs, reading, surfing, skiing, kayaking, swimming and dancing. Roman is an active member of Mensa International. He strongly believes is meditation and keeping healthy. He is also a certified Paralegal, having successfully developed defenses for several high profile cases in the United States and internationally. When asked, what gives him the most happiness in life, he cites family. A top priority? Being a dad.

Corporate Life: Roman was in the National Sales Division of US Sprint, primarily selling high-tech business communications solutions to large corporations and the Fortune 500. He managed the large territory of Palm Springs, California southward to the Mexican and Arizona borders. He was given the responsibility of starting the first US Sprint office in Palm Springs, California in 1991.

Entrepreneur: During his tenure with Sprint he saw his talents were squandered away with the demands of corporate life. Though he continued with Sprint for some time he wrote and published the self-help book "Millionaire Dreams" sold primarily throughout the United States in "recovery" book stores. The intention of the book was to allow the reader to live an inspired life, not one of survival and complacency. It was designed to help with self-esteem and revive childhood dreams of being anyone we want, by way of written exercises, as well as visualization and affirmation applications; the end result being "Do what you love and the money will follow." Currently out of print. Roman can also be credited in the early 90's, with releasing and having developed the very first "self-help" 900 number, entitled "Inner Vision Recovery Line".

Since the 90's Roman has written and taken to market a full length spec screenplay titled "Project Genesis." It is currently under a series of Hollywood industry re-writes. His other past writing assignments have included the crime novel, "Angels of Revenge." He is also a known author for articles published regularly in EHow and WikiHow.com, to name a few. To this day he is hired by major publishers to ghost writer for other known authors. Roman recently celebrated his 10th year as an editor for Wikipedia.

Present Day

Roman Terry is the Chief Executive Officer of Get A Trip, Inc. and on the Board of Directors for the Get A Trip International Travel Group Consortium. In 2008 he finally decided to put all his world travels and traveling expertise towards the development of several on-line travel companies. Get A Trip.com was created and produced in alliance with Travelocity and Sabre Holdings International. Other travel micro-sites within the Get A Trip Travel Consortium [besides its mainstream travel website, GetATrip.com is Travel Islands.info, Travel Deals.tv, Beach Spa Resorts.com , Trip Articles.com, Travel Story Articles.com, Disney Vacations.ws,Travel News.ws, Road Trips.ws, Girlfriends Escape.com , Pet Lover Hotels.com and City Travel.us. All the Get A Trip companies are either in various stages of development or simply part of the GetATrip investment portfolio.

A family charity endeavor to support animal abuse intervention, created by daughter and dad, can be found at Rock Friends.org. The creation of Rock Friends is similar to that of the Pet Rock though each rock friend is unique and comes with its own birth certificate and dress-clothes. Endorsements were sought from personalities within the music and television industry. [currently not active]

Roman was the driving force, as the founder and administrator of an ongoing LinkedIn Professional Group, Get A Trip: Group To Improve Travel Websites. Please note: As of June 2013, this group was cancelled by Mr. Terry, due to the enormous time constraints it required. It will remain, as having been one of LinkedIn's more successful travel groups, having had over one thousand members. The intention is to someday continue this shared learning with the creation of an online travel school for travel company employees. It is slated for development in 2016; accessed through Travel Website School.com. This will be open for travel website owners to learn the very demanding role that SEO has on the travel, tourism & hospitality industries.

Roman currently resides with his family in Southern California.

Goals

"To be a respected editor for Wikipedia, researching and writing on diverse subject matter, though various travel related topics within Wikipedia are priority; these may include country specific pages and aspects of international cultures." Roman continues as an editor for WikiHow and WikiTravel, as well.

Statement of Purpose

"My purpose in editing for the Wiki environments is to maintain their usefulness and their factual integrity. I am grateful for being part of something that will undoubtedly benefit all future generations -- the largest on-line encyclopedias and manuals in the world. It is about being part of something much larger than ourselves. It is about partaking in a "gift" towards mankind."
