Photographs taken by wikipedia editors are an important part of the encyclopedia. In today's world, almost everybody has a mobile phone which includes a high-quality digital camera so there's no shortage of photos. Unfortunately, many of them are poor quality. This essay is an attempt to teach people how to take better photos. This is divided into two broad areas; how to capture better images, and how to improve the images you've already captured. In both cases, I'm just going to touch on a few simple things that anybody should be able to master with free tools.
