I apologize for being a computer Luddite. I'm slowly trying to learn the ways of WIKI. The database I'm using to identify these fellows is one I've compiled myself over a number of years in an attempt to figure out what the former generals of the Empire were up to during the Hundred Days. Other possible links:

  • Brayer, Michel Sylvestre (baron) (1769-1840) commanded a division of the Young Guard from April 22,1815 - July 24 when he was outlawed ("proscrit") on July 24 & fled to Belgium, then the United States. From there he joined independence movements in Argentina & Chili, before returning to France in 1821. (Six vol.I pg.156)
  • d'Alton[Dalton], Alexandre (baron, later vicomte) (1776-1859)commanded the 25th French division from April 13(wiki) or 23 (Six) -August 1 & also served as Governor of Toulon fron June 1-20,1815. (Six vol.I pg.282)
  • Fressinet, (baron) Philibert (1767-1821) commanded the 27th French division from sometime in May - sometime in June 1815 when he became chief of staff for Davout. I don't know who (if anyone) replaced him. (Six vol.I pgs.469-70)
  • Harispe, Jean Isidore[Isadore](comte)(1768-1855)commanded the 26th French division from May 11- August 1,1815 (Six vol.I pgs.558-9)
  • "Lapane" is Laplane, Jean Grégoire Barthélemy Rouger de, (1766-1837)commanded the 4th National Guard division (corps d'observation du Jura) from June 12 - August 15,1815, when he retired.(Six vol.II pg.58)
  • Lemoine, Louis (comte)(1754-1842) was appointed commandant of Mézières June 6,1815, surrendered to Hake on August 10, but remained the commandant - December 1816. (Six vol.II pg.105))
    • Joseph Marie Quérard, et al, (1854) La littérature française contemporaine. XIXe siècle: Le tout accompagné de notes biographiques et littéraires, Volume 5, pp. 75-6, Daguin frères. -- states that he, the minister of war in 1815, andComandant of Mézières responsible for the defence of Mézières and its and the citadel.
  • Ravier, Jean-Baptiste Ambroise, (baron)(1766-1828) commanded a brigade in the 25th French division from April 23 - August 1,1815.(Six vol.II pgs.348-9))
  • "Rigault" is Rigau[Rigaud/Rigaux], Antoine (baron) (1758-1820) was appointed commandant of the department of the Marne on June 27,1814, declared (with General Lefebvre-Desnouettes) a little too soon for Napoleon's return in early March 1815,had to flee, soon joined up with Napoleon & was re-appointed to the Marne on March 22,1815. As one of the earliest of the general officers to turn against Louis XVIII he was outlawed ("proscrit") on July 24, fled to Belgium & finally to America in 1817, joining a group of French expatriates in Texas. He died in New Orleans in 1820.(Six vol.II pg.372)
  • Robert, Simon Louis (baron) (1768-1855) commanded a brigade in the 24th French division from April 23-August 1,1815


  • "Rothenburg" is Rottembourg, Henri(baron)(1769-1857)had been selected to command the 6th division under Reille on April 30,1815 but was replaced by Napoleon's brother Jerome on June 10. Rottembourg replaced Heudelet [general de division Etienne, comte Heudelet de Bierre(1770-1857)(Six vol.I pgs.573-4)]on June 17 as commander of the 15th division in the Army of the Rhine under Rapp. He remained until September 9, when he was allowed to (temporarily) retire until 1816, when he resumed his military career. (Six vol.II pg.394)
  • Slivarich de Helgenbourg, Marc commanded a brigade in the 24th French division from April 23 - June 1,1815 when he was appointed commandant of Antibes - September 7,1815.(Six vol.II pg.460)
  • Travot, Jean Pierre (baron)(1767-1836) was appointed commandant of (regional) Military Division 13 in Rennes on April 20,1815, was under the command of Delaborde from May 1 - 31, then Lamarque through the rest of the campaign. He retired on September 4 only to be arrested & held - 1819. (Six vol.II pg.509)
