Why Bad Jokes and Other Nonsense should Be Allowed

[edit]

You must be a Wikipedian to go reading other people's User sites. So do yourself a favor, click Bad Jokes and Other Nonsense. You know you want to. Well, apparently you're still reading my essay, so I'll make it brief- click it, and at one time you could aquire fifty-three pages of bright sarcasm, literate satire, sharp wit . . . and, well, bad jokes and other deleted nonsense. It's where good vandalism could rest in peace and its creators fold their hands and smile serenely. Who wouldn't want that? Apparently, somebody in a position of Wikied power, because the page is deleted! Fellow Wikipedians, we cannot stand for this injustice.

Time to face facts, my fellow Wikipedians- the site is kind of boring. Wikipedia is a great site, don't get me wrong, but it is a little bland. And who makes the site? Soulless nerds with names like "Dark Truth" and "Gump." They prowl the site, searching for a shred of interest, of prejudice, of anything a reader could latch onto- in a sense, humanity- and they devour it- similar to vampires- and replace it was something so "blah" I want to cry. Every page except user pages (and some of those too) reads like it was written by a robot. Okay, fine by me, but does the humor and happiness have to be sucked out completely? Does the site have to be so gray? Can't we have a healthy balance of both? No, no, and yes. Take the vandalism that is worthy and preserve it. Let the laughter stay.

There is too much light-hearted vandalism and too many innocent vandals to stop. Block them as you will but it will have little effect- they can wait and they can make as many names as they wish. What will you do with it all, simply delete it? There are pages that have survived the editing frenzy for years. These are the pages that give Wikipedia its color.

I understand that this site is for educational purposes. Frankly, I learn a lot on that dear old page. I hold it very close to my heart. Wikieditor, please find it in your heart to reinstate the BJaODN page. (I'd also like to not be blocked, if you will.)
