Stephen Martin Kohn is a founding partner and whistleblower attorney for Kohn, Kohn & Colapinto, a Washington, D.C. law firm, and is considered one of the world's leading experts in whistleblower law. He is also the pro bono Chairman of the Board of the National Whistleblower Center, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting and rewarding whistleblowers around the globe. Kohn is most widely recognized for representing Bradley Birkenfeld, a former UBS banker who blew the whistle on $20 billion in illegal offshore Swiss bank accounts of 18,000 U.S. taxpayers. In 2012, Birkenfeld obtained one of the largest ever qui tam rewards in history, $104 million.[1] Kohn is the author of eight other books on the topic of whistleblower law, including the first legal treatise on whistleblowing, and The New Whistleblower Handbook, a first-ever consumer guide to whistleblowing.
