Photography in Iran dates back to 1842 with the introduction of daguerreotype photography to the court of Mohammad Shah Qajar.[1][2]
History
[edit]The first daguerreotype devices were brought to Iran as gifts from Tsar Nicholas I and Queen Victoria to Mohammad Shah Qajar. The Russian device arrived first and was accompanied by the Russian diplomat Nikolai Pavolv who took the first daguerreotype pictures in mid December 1402.
