Salisbury Group

We are the Salisbury UK group of Amnesty campaigning for better human rights around the world. The group was formed soon after Amnesty itself was founded so is now well established.

We campaign on a range of issues but have recently concentrated on the abolition of the death penalty around the world and for improved human rights in North Korea. This year (2015) being the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta with one of the surviving copies of the charter in the Cathedral, saw us mount a number of activities built around that which were quite successful for us.

We have around 200 supporters in the Salisbury area although in truth, most are fairly invisible.

We have a blog site [[1]] and a twitter site @Salisburyai and also a tumblr page as well.

If you are reading this in the Salisbury area and would like to be involved, the simplest thing to do is come along to one of our events which you can find posted on the blog/twitter/tumblr and make yourself known. It is free to join.

We have an annual service in the Cathedral usually around November or December, a stall in the market once a year and we have signings in the square now and again. We look forward to seeing you.
