I'm a writer and critic recently retired from three decades working as an administrator in the president's office of a large university. I live in Boston.

My graduate training was in medieval studies and linguistics. When the world was much younger I wrote in these areas, but the bulk of my writing has dealt with literary criticism, public policy amd technology, e.g., nuclear energy.

I've been married for 47 years to another editor and writer. We have two children, one a rising novelist and the other editor of the country's largest general computer magazine.

Avocations: photography, observational astronomy, cooking, travel, collecting, e.g., prints and classic cameras, my cat Clarence.
