Howdy, I'm Samir. I spent ten years running programs and operations at LGBT nonprofits and am now at MIT Sloan getting my MBA. I'm passionate about big data, design thinking, mobile payments, local business networks, apps that use open government data, and public transportation.
Prior to business school, I managed the Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund and Institute's leadership development programs for LGBT politicians from 2010-13. At the Human Rights Campaign, I managed the Corporate Equality Index from 2004 to 2010, partnering with Fortune 1000 companies and AmLaw 200 law firms to recruit and retain talented LGBT workers. I was the organization's foremost expert on domestic partner benefits for same-sex partners and spouses of employees, as well as workplace inclusion of transgender employees.
I am a native St. Louisan, I spent the last ten years in Washington, D.C., and now reside in Cambridge, Mass.
